The really worrisome part for *me* is that the lkml (Linux Kernel Mailing List -- aka. centre of the universe for Free penguins) has decided that in-drive write caching Is Bad, and are now instrumenting the (linux) kernel to defeat write-caching. Sure, it won't slow my systems down (much) since I regularly patch my own kernels, but..
