Again, thanks for the links. I think this review (that I found following one of those links) is an excellent review of the AMD CPU. Looks like it came out on top in their tests I'm drooling already.

Given that it's going to come out at $1000, I think I might try that plan I mentioned. It might just be worth it now to get a 3000+ for the fairly low price of about $130, then upgrade significantly to the 4800+ when the price comes down a little. Hell, I'd probably still be able to get about $50 for a used 3000+ at that point.

Anyway, I'll have a bit to think about while I wait for the funds to build up
