It is not upgradable except via the pinout (no phone upgrading), but given that it can do learning, I haven't found a need to upgrade it.

Ah, but that's where the hack page comes in. See, because it's not upgradeable, if you get a new device that's not in its ROM (can anyone say "Rio Remote"?), you're SOL. The hack information allows for you to upgrade the remote yourself and add new codes that it didn't have before.

In my case, I've got a particular device that it can't talk to, and I'm hoping the hack can help me.
