When (and if) they fix phpBB (maybe in the new 3.x release) I'll check it out again, but until then, I'm sticking with SMF.

And I'll just post here to say that I've also switched from phpBB to SMF. The conversion was really painless, and I like the forum a little better. The peace of mind is great too. I'm not sure if I'll be able to avoid it with this forum, but on phpBB I was getting about 3 registrations a day from bots.
