This also varies depending where in the UK you are, and how old you are!
I think age has to do with it here in the US as well. Up until a few years ago, my great grandmother was still alive, and her meal schedule was: breakfast - morning dinner - noon supper - evening
Looks like wikipedia has a dedicated meal section, even covering the origins of second breakfast, and elevenses.
