Yes, if the bad physical connection was a partial one, for example, the IDE header had only certain pins lifted, exactly as in the photos in that link we keep telling you to follow and which you haven't yet said you've actually tried to do anything it suggests.

Anyway, those IDE Data Test errors indicate that there is a partial bad connection to the drive. Either cable problems or IDE header problems. I'm sure the actual values written and read could tell us which IDE header pins are lifted (or which corresponding lines on the IDE cable are having a bad connection).

Fix the physical problem first before trying FSCKs. That utility is only useful if there's nothing physical wrong with the drive, and in fact might even be damaging if there is a partial data connection problem as we suspect.
