Okay, I don't think you have anything wrong with your tuner or your empeg. My guess is that you've got this problem. Either that, or some other behind-the-sled wiring problem that's grounding wires that shouldn't be grounded.
The first wire I'd suspect a problem with is the antenna remote turn-on wire coming from the tuner module. Since your problem comes up when the tuner goes hot.
