Strangely, even after reading the explanation, I don't see much humor in the practice.

I mean I'm not offended or angered or anything like that.

My response is just "Hey, somebody put up an incorrect link. Big deal."

I guess this falls into the same category of pranks as hiding somebody's coffee mug. "Hey look at Johnny! He's looking for his mug on his desk. But I moved it to Timmy's desk. I have now made him waste 20 seconds of his time. Isn't that hilarious! What a funny prank I have pulled. Laugh everyone."
