Maybe I'm just an idiot, but this is what is happening.

When following the instructions in the faq, I get this

Turn on empeg unit now
Strange, we got a zero byte read.
**** REPEATED UNTIL EMPEG IS PLUGGED IN ****

Strange, we got a zero byte read.
Couldn't find manufacturer ID!

And it cuts out
or it gives me this

Error status in readbyte 16
Strange, we got a zero byte read.

Both times I just plug in the empeg and that's what it does. Is this a known issue? I'm using the correct com port version of download.exe.
