Looking at Bitt's paragraph above it is a good size but it is not comfortable to read, its almost ever so slightly 3Dish. I think I can't really figure out how to focus on it, well that is what it feels like.

Did you change the DPI setting back to normal? Many vendors ship their high-res computers with the Windows DPI set to something higher than 96, and it looks universally awful. Display Control Panel → Settings → Advanced → General → DPI setting.
You might also want to play with the antialiasing options: Display Control Panel → Appearance → Effects → ... smooth edges ....
