K447, thanks for the tip. It hadn't even occurred to me that a local user group would still be around, let alone selling off a decent inventory of hardware.
If they had an Amiga 3000 I might even have picked one of those up as well.

But... Now that I've just found out that you can connect a C64 to S-Video (with a custom cable), I'll probably get a complete system instead of only the 1541. For the past 20 years I've sort of regretted selling my C64. I don't now how much use I'll get out of it, but it will be a neat item of nostalgia and won't take up too much space in my office, or even in the large cabinet I've built for my home theater system.
