I'd love to, and they are ordering a server to replace one that crashed, but it won't be here for a week and they'd like to avoid using sneakernet for the time being.

That would account for odd behavior like some computers working and others not (i.e. connection limit exceeded). Check the Event Log to be sure.

I would be surprised. Like I said, they only have about 10 computers total, maybe 12, and none of the Windows 7 computers see any of the Windows XP computers (and vice versa) when viewing the network computers.
