Yeah, I'm honestly not surprised. Just looking at this thing, I was pretty sure this wasn't a "thing that's good."
I found another "not good thing" in my living room, which is - in theory - wired with a 5.1 surround speaker system. I mean, I believe that it's wired, but it appears that the home builder implemented yet another hack product that shouldn't exist. You'll never believe how all the speaker lines terminate in the wall plate: an ATX 24-pin connector. The previous homeowners then left the cable bundle that attaches to this: the 24 pin on one end and 10 banana plugs on the other. I'll have to take a picture when I have a chance. I've never seen that before...
