I know the new remotes support the "press and hold" method of getting to data. I don't think there is anything you can't do, but probably not with the same easy keypress pattern as the new remote.

If anyone is seriously interested in the older Kenwood remotes (relatively cheap), send me a private message on the board. I purchased three additional when I got the empeg last year (home, office, spare), but I will replace all of them when the US store starts selling the Rio branded remotes.

Rob: I don't suppose there will be an upgrade path on the remotes...
