Both the Kenwood and Rio remotes are fully compatible with all versions of the Empeg Car and Rio car, including the Mk1 and all models of Mk2.

To recognize the Rio remote, you simply need a recent version of the software installed on the player. And it doesn't even have to be very recent, the support has been there in the code for quite a while.
