Also, is there a way to clear the the # plays database? If I have a song that I play alot, it might be embarassing if someone riding in my car sees that I've played it 100's of times. This may sound wierd, but it makes me feel somewhat nuerotic watching that plays counter rise. I don't really like the idea of something watching everything I do and then advertising it.
What, too many Britneys

?
I think they are kept with other transient data on /dev/hda3. There is a recipe for 'nuking' them all, but it also takes EQ settings etc. Roger has half-promised structure of the data there, so that it can be backed up / restored / erased separatly.
I think both the plays counter and the automatic scroll should be options under the "Settings" menu that the user can control, just like the time elapsed/time remaining options line.
OK, let it be configurable, but I feel kind of bad because many users (myself included) were clamoring
for scrolling and nobody said "don't bother" then, while now it might sound as waste of effort. I like scrolling and use Track info screen a lot.
But, an idea: would it be possible to have templates for some or all info screens, where the user could choose from a dozen or so elements and place them (with attributes such as font size, style of scrolling etc) on customized screen? That would also apply to Details screen (where I would like to see
all details).
Also, does anyone else think the idea of having a "Most frequently played / Most recently played" option under "Random" would be a good idea? That would allow you to have a nice random sampling of everything you're enjoying currently. Personally, I'd use that form of randomizing far more often than the "Least frequently played" that's currently offered.
I agree. But again, an idea: how about a shufle mode where the weighting function and amount of randomization would be user specified (e.g. 'maximize (number_of_times_played - 2 * number_of_times_skiped)' or something like that)?
Anyway, let guys@empeg first iron our stability problems of new beta!
