Looks like the cause of this is the player trying to restart the music after every file is deleted. And it happens even if the current playlist is not being affected. Here is what my serial port caught while emplode was deleting 47 files:

serial_notify_thread.cpp: 116:@@ N20
serial_notify_thread.cpp: 117:@@ F0x13020
serial_notify_thread.cpp: 118:@@ TI'll Be Waiting
serial_notify_thread.cpp: 119:@@ AFull Intention Presents Shena
serial_notify_thread.cpp: 120:@@ GTechno
serial_notify_thread.cpp: 180:@@ #13020 0:04:56
serial_notify_thread.cpp: 116:@@ N20
serial_notify_thread.cpp: 117:@@ F0x13020
serial_notify_thread.cpp: 118:@@ TI'll Be Waiting
serial_notify_thread.cpp: 119:@@ AFull Intention Presents Shena
serial_notify_thread.cpp: 120:@@ GTechno
serial_notify_thread.cpp: 180:@@ #13020 0:04:56
(repeat 45 more times)

From my player managment today, I have one song at 150 plays, and this one at 47 now :-)
