No. The number of inodes that are created when you put down the filesystem is relative to partition size. Larger partition -> more inodes.

If you know that you are going to use up a huge amount of inodes (creating loads of playlists, using the sym-link tree thing, filetaxiing gobs of small files etc etc) you might want to tweak the filesystem some (recreate it with a higher inode density). The builder .upgrade file uses a pretty low density of inodes since it is assumed that the filesize, on average, will be pretty large (say one 5MB tune file accompanied by a tags file of less than 1kB). Don't recall exactly what the density used is, but it's been posted on the board. Let's see, yup, here it is.
