Sorry, this may seem really ignorant, but I've done search after search for this and haven't been able to find it, even though my Empeg was trashed in my accident, I'm pretty sure when I get money flowing again, I'll get another if possible, so I'm going to rip my CD's to my computer atlease. Anyways, I need help setting up the aurguements in Audiograbber.

Currently it looks like %s %d -b 128 ... should it look like %s %d -b 160 --alt-preset standard or something like that? If so, does this aurguement automatically do VBR?

%s %d --alt-preset standard i believe is what your looking for
and yes it does automaticlly do VBR

maybe the "-b 160" addition forces it not to go below 160bitrate

Also, am I able to burn more then one cd at a time ... I've got decode all before encording or something like that ... it decodes all the wave files before sending them to LAME but then Audiograbber pops up a window Waiting for external MP3 encoder with an Abort button, not allowing me to insert another disc to get ahead of the query? Any ideas, or is this not possible?

Have you looked into EAC (Exact Audio Copy)? I used Audiograbber for a while but couldn't get it to work on my win2K machine.. so I switched to EAC (free) and really like it...

www.chrismyden.com has a startup guide... he has a room on Dalnet too #myden

I tried EAC not too long ago... but couldn't figure out if it was able to rip the whole CD before calling LAME - which is something I really want to do. I use the --nogap switch, even though it's not perfect, and that ability is defeated LAME is called once for each WAV file and then exits while the next track is being ripped.

Ahh... That's a very good point. Maybe I'll pop over to the EAC mailing list and request that as an option...

Emberwilde, head over the AudioGrabber forums and read the following post:
http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/boards/ubb/Forum1/HTML/002494.html
It covers "batch encoding" which is ripping several CDs before encoding. I suggest you read the other posts started by "Bill" as he has asked several good advanced user questions over the past few days.

BTW both AG & EAC can do this, and retain the ID3 tag info, but they do it in different ways.

I had an odd problem (the programmer and I couldn't figure it out) where when I dragged files from a folder into Audiograbber, some files wouldn't get converted into mp3s but Audiograbber would still delete the wav...

I remember, you even posted screen shots.
It was weird.
But I am glad the EAC is working out for you.
