I've got an SMD resistor that appears to have the code "100" on it. (Although I suppose it could be 001.) I want to know what value it's supposed to be. What resistance value should it show when tested?

It's done by YYX. Where YY is the first two digits of the resistance in ohms and X is the number of 0's after the two digits (multiplier)

So 100 should 10 ohms

100 is likely to be 10 ohms; 10 and 0 zeros following it. eg, on the 3-digit SMD code, 103 is 10k (10,000 ohms).

Some are 4 digit, eg 1002 is 10k; on these 100 ohms would be 100R as it's a bit hard to have it make sense otherwise!
