I have used CharcoalGray99's xsl for a while now, and it always worked, but now I have upgraded to beta13 and hijack 286 I appear to have lost the playlists section.

Browsing to http://empeg brings up the index.html as you would expect, and all works perfectly. Even the ftp browser works, but when I click on the playlists link, it returns with a short, 1-line table with a couple of ?NOPRESS messages. Can't remember them right now, but will grab the actual message this evening.

I have removed all the xsl files and directories and replaced them with newly downloaded versions, checked permissions, checked for the two notify sections in config.ini (are we still spelling it supress?) and rebooted many times

Any ideas or thoughts??

After upgrading to beta 13, his XML pages still worked fine for me including the playlists.

Since upgrading to beta 13 requires that you re-install his files from scratch, I would bet that the problem was caused during your re-upload. Perhaps some of the files didn't get sent, the directory structure wasn't properly replicated, the file permissions didn't get set correctly for all of the files, or you forgot to set it back to read-only before rebooting, causing file corruption.

Strange. I also didn't have problems with this myself. I had to reupload the files since the upgrade pumps the filesystem, but after that all worked the same as before.

update and errata - okay this is the error I get back. Looks like the xml is either being parsed incorrectly, or it is expecting something my browser just ain't sending:

This bit appears in a one row table:

?fid=&ext=.m3u Stream ?NODATA&SERIAL=%23 Play Length Type Artist Source

And then this appears further down the page:

EEEEEE FFFFFF ?fid=&ext=.m3u ?NODATA&SERIAL=%23 ?fid= ?fid=&ext=.xml

I have resent and rechecked everything connected with the xsl stuff, and hijack, but still no joy.

Unfortunately I know very little about xml so not even sure where this would point.

Does your browser meet the requirements on this page?

Yep, he did, on both the General forums and the front page of RioCar.org. Now if only more people would use that second resource :-)

I know I have IE5.5, but will check on the XML core services bit. If that is all it is then I'll just download and install it.

Would everything else work without that Service pack?

I would have assumed it was the lack of the XML parser as well. Except for the fact that he stated at the beginning of the thread that "it has always worked in the past" and he said that only the beta13 upgrade and the re-install broke it.

Guess I shouldn't always assume that the support customer is giving 100 percent factual details.

Good point, I'm not sure exactly when it stopped - I used to use it a lot, but since then I have gone from WinME with much cruft to 2000, have gone from b11 to b13, gone up about 40 or 50 hijack releases and maybe I was on xsl1.0 back then.

It would have been more useful if I could have remembered

But the xml upgrade has definitely sorted things.
