Has anyone else run into this? When I'm streaming songs over the corp-net to my desktop, about 20%-30% of the songs get terminated pre-maturely, and WinAmp makes a request for the next song. I tried installing multiple versions of WinAmp, and I've tried messing with the settings to make sure it's not a software problem.

I suppose it could be a bandwidth issue or something. I notice that it takes my empeg a LONG time to serve up web pages at work. I ended up putting a link on the homepage to "stream all contents" of the player in order to avoid going to the playlists page (which takes a good 40 seconds to download). The same request takes about 4 seconds at home.

Any ideas on why my songs get truncated or how to fix it?

Thanks,
Bri

It's possible that your empeg is getting hammered with web requests, possibly due to a worm infecting your network. Can you try it isolated from your company net and see if there's any difference.

Yep, Exactly what I got b4 it went completely dead and now streams garbage to boith win amp and mediaplayer (do search on streaming garbage to see the screenshot, post was by me with no replies, conspiracy I say!). No company here just a home network no worms, e\verything else works fine

That's very strange. I guess I will have to try it at home again to see if it's broken now. I just assumed that it was net-spam at work causing the problem, so I haven't gotten around to trying it at home.

I have noticed that the streaming is getting consistently worse over time. I just closed winamp for today because I'm only getting about 5 seconds of my songs at a time without them cutting out =(

Greetings!

Something to look into. Are your MP3 files completely clean? I have the same problem, but I believe it is because of the VBR headers (or lack of them) in my files. Some files play fine, others have issues. Are you using VBR files?

Yes, VBR4 quality LAME encoded. They play fine when sending to WMR via explorer?? I will try some WMA files and see if that fixes

Nope No difference with WMA encoded files They too play fine with WMP alone but stream text and numbers in WMP via Hijack
