What's compilla? a domain name registering company? if so that definitely blows that they'd not give you any warning.

I use Gandi. Very good registration agreement, only 12 Euros a year, very simple (geek-friendly, IMHO) web site, and good service. I've also been using them for several years and they seem to have been one of the first alternate registrars, so I'm not worried about them going out of business.
