$10 Rebate on any Lens until 12:00 AM Saturday Sept. 7 (-5 GMT)

I am going to extend the rebate sale through to Midnight Monday (12:00 AM Sept 9 -5 GMT).

To reiterate $10 rebate on lenses only and remember you must include the appropriate postage at the bottom of the order page or you forfeit you're rebate.

Just out of interest, why the rebate scheme? Rebates serve two purposes - they protect reseller margin, and they cost less than a sale because only a small percentage of consumers bother to claim them.

In this case there is no reseller and everyone automatically gets a rebate. Why not just reduce the price and minimise the PayPal transactions?

Couple of reasons.
1. As stated in the post if you don't click to include postage when you order you forfeit the rebate.
A lot of people don't bother to read the page which states you need to do this.
2. I lose money with a $10 rebate so I'm not going to change the page when I want to recoup some of my production costs. It's too much of a hassle to change it and then change it back after. So it's easier for me this way.

Well, since I submitted my order including postage, and the PayPal went through at the indicated price on your web page, how do you process the rebate?

I send the rebate amount back through Paypal when the order is packaged up and ready to go.

You will notice it in your Paypal account shortly after you receive shipping confirmation which should be before tomorrow morning.
I don't send out on the weekends so it will probably go out in the morning.
