Hi. This happens to be my very first post, so be gentle

I've noticed that Hijack changes the binding for number 4 on my Kenwood remote. Without Hijack number 4 is used to mark a track, with Hijack '4' does something for the Quick Timer, sets it to 00:30 ...

Guess this one is reported and analyzed before, but couldn't find any solutions to fix this. Tried searching the FAQ and the BBS several times.

I have Mark 1, and this has been with all the Hijack versions I've tried. Not so shure if 1.03 removes this, doubt (I'm using b13 dev).

I even tried to modify config.ini, but seems that Hijack overrides this...?

This is normal expected Hijack behaviour. Isn't there another button on the KW remote for "mark" as well? I seem to recall that being the case, but my KW remote is hiding from me right now.

On the Rio Remote, the "Cancel" button (immediately below the 7) is the "mark" button, even though the 4 also acts as "mark" (sans Hijack).

Of course, Hijack has evolved more since this was done, and nowadays I could easily make the "quick timer" function into a "virtual button" with no defaul mapping. Then folks could map it where they please.

Cheers

I do not believe so. Only the owners of the Rio remote have the choice of two different buttons for the Mark Track feature.

Note: If you are unable to use the remote to mark a track, you can still mark and unmark tracks from the "Bookmarks" menu from the front panel.

Since Hijack doesn't work with 1.03, then it certainly would remove it (since you would have to remove hijack to run 1.03).

Your first post was well-informed and came with good preparatory research.

As I said in my reply to Mark, you can work around this temporarily by using the Bookmarks menu. The option is called "Mark track for attention".

Why not just use "cancel" to mark the track?

Because he doesn't have a Rio Remote. His remote does not have a cancel/mark button. The button that occupies that position on the Kenwood remote opens the main menu, it does not mark a track.

Sigh.

Yes, I've been working around with the temp-solution. Just happens that I've been using that for several months now. And finally said to myself that now I need to find out how to make Empeg finally obey my orders 8-)

So. What's the final solution for this with KW remote? Wait for new hijack version with Quick Timer disabled?

What Quick Timer really is? Anything useful?
(hmm. seems like i can't use the bbs-software ... damn :/ )

It's a sleep timer or alarm clock or egg timer (hard or soft).

Okay, Hijack v297 no longer assigns the '4' to QuickTimer.

See the announcement and notes in the Programming Forum for details on how to access the QuickTimer as of v297+.

Cheers
