When using Rsync to synchronise 2 players, does it also sync the player settings or just the music portion of the drives? I'm just about to try it for the first time. TIA for your time.

It depends on what command you use. If you rsync the /drivex/fids directory, it will do the playlists and MP3 files. If you try to rsync at /drive0, it will try to sync /drive0/var, which has config.ini in it.

rsync will not copy things that are stored in flash (things like current playlist and position, volume, and most other things that may be frequently changed). As to whether your config.ini is copied, I think that depends on how you configure rsync.

You might be able to clone your EQ settings, radio station presets, and the like if you rsync the players' unformatted data partitions. I've never tried this, though, so you could be a guinea pig...

Thanks guys, I'm really just interested in doing a sync on the playlists and mp3 files anyway. Just was concerned because one player is used as a stand alone head unit with EQ settings, tuner, etc. The other player is used with a Alpine head unit and I run the EQ flat and no tuner. Just didn't want to have to re-do all of the settings on one or the other just because of synchronising the music.

Even if it was to do that, you'd be okay. You realize that there are multiple EQ presets available, right?
