Man, what does a guy have to do to be upgraded from a "Member"? I just want to be an "Addict" or something cool like that. I'm not asking to be a "Pooh-Bah" or "FAQ Master", I just don't want to be a "Member" any longer. Everytime I see it, I just can't help thinking of Beavis & Butthead looking at each other and saying "that guy's a member". Even "New Poster" & "Stranger" are less bland than Member. Being a "Member" is just boring me to tears.

Yup, adding the rankings back in was a great idea.

Hey, hey... just having a bit of fun here... no reason to start second guessing yourselves. This board is still an unbelievable resource with or without titles!
However, it is easier now to see that the responses to our important questions may be being answered by someone like me who is just a "Member" =(.

As am I.

If that's the only reason you consider the rankings important, then why (a) complain about your ranking, and (b) attempt to brute-force increase your post count in this thread?

OUCH! "And thus do the BBS Gods smite those that tick them off!"
Seriously, though, these things take time. That is why a special category was needed to handle Tony and his FAQ link responses, and before that his inline answers before the FAQ grew to what it is today.

"Whiner"... I can live with that (temporarily), it has charachter, and at least it's not "Weiner".

[shrug] I still don't see why anyone thinks threads like this are a problem.
Edit: But of course, it's not my BBS and it's not my bandwidth that's being used here.

I don't think they are a problem, but they do add to the background noise sometimes. I know that it was just in fun and not a serious attempt to boost post counts.

"If that's the only reason you consider the rankings important, then why (a) complain about your ranking,"
To be perfectly honest, I've never even considered rankings before. I think the only time I've ever really checked them out was when I first became a "member" of this board (oh, and today when I realized I was a "Member"). As a "Stranger", I used them to sort out who-was-who.
"(b) attempt to brute-force increase your post count in this thread?
Tony, I know you're the Admin so, in fairness and if you are serious, you may remove my posts from this thread from my total # of posts. I am not trying to artificially "brute-force" my post count. The reason I started this thread in the first place was strictly for entertainment purposes (no animals were used during testing). However, I sort of dig the "Whiner" title (had me ROFLOL), so can I keep it for a while?

It's not THAT big of a deal, you were just doing a really good job of proving my original point (from months ago) and I was trying to drive it home.
However, I sort of dig the "Whiner" title (had me ROFLOL), so can I keep it for a while?
Sure.
Actually, I think Tom occasionally runs something that forces the count-governed titles back onto all users, so it will probably last until the next time he does that.
