how to repair this case?

- Remove the power from the player.

- Get the proper ".upgrade" file as described here.

- Connect the player to your computer's serial port. Do not apply power to the player.

- Double-click on that .upgrade file. If you've got a version of emplode installed, it should begin running the upgrade software. Follow the software's prompts.

- Do not apply power to the player until the upgrade software specifically prompts you to do so.

- When the software tells you to apply power to the player, do it. It should upgrade the player and replace the bad kernel properly.

Hey, Tony, aren't those instructions in the FAQ somewhere... like everything else?

Why did you type it all out?

Actually, it's in the text linked by the word "HERE" in the above post. But I wanted to make sure he "got it".

Let me explain in details.
I applied power to the player only to come out nothing on the display, just LED on the right side blinked. The player doesn't answer me.
I think the cause is that I failed to write a file called "car2-consumer-v2.00-beta13.upgrade" to Hijack Kernel, not Empeg Upgrade. The file is in Upgrade Empeg which is in the tool box of Jemplode.
I tried just as you wrote down but in vain. My computer says "car player not found."
Am not I able to restore the player under this condition?

Are you certain you tried using the serial (RS232) port?

I expect that your Emplode is configured to use the ethernet or USB connection to the player by default.

Greetings!

What kind of machine are you using to sync? Are you connected on a Windows machine? Did anything else have the serial port to the player open (like HyperTerminal)?

serial port was used by another application and could't be used for Empeg.
now I changed a system and it's now used by Empeg.

Thank you so much everyone!
