I need a little help for school

Can any of you classical fans point out a particularly strong use of leitmotif in a Wagner piece? I've got the score and recording of Ride of the Valkyries checked out, so if that uses it a good deal, I'd be pretty happy.

Sorry... but leitmotif is pretty much entirely an operatic concept, and the only operatic music I have is the occasional aria from popular works. I am just not a big opera fan.

I am trying to think of a leitmotif example in my instrumental work, and am coming up blank.

'Fraid I can't help you much with this one. But I remember a post from about two years ago from somebody who bought his empeg primarily to hold his opera collection. I can't find that post now. Anybody know who made it?

Yea, wabbits. But really, I'd imagine that each character in his operas would have their own motif that is played whenever they are on stage or being references. All you need to do is find a character that exists in the majority of the 18 hour Ring Cycle, and you're set. Their motif will be played millions of times.

Want an easy cop out? Just grab the theme of the wabbit herself, Brunhilda (or whatever). She must have one. Just search the web for it or something and you'll find it.

Actually, according to one source I have, Brunhilda's motif is the very famous Ride of the Valkyries theme (alla Apocalypse Now). Interesting. I guess I'll just go with that one...
