I believe there are some WRX install pictures in the photo gallery at www.riocar.org . Also, do a search on the "Installation Notes" forum of the BBS on the term "subaru".

Thanks, im lookin into right now. If anyone has pictures tho that they haven;t posted in the forum, it would be a big help to me if you could post afew here. My cousin wants to get an empeg but doesn;t wanna buy it if he can;t get it cleanly install in his wrx without cutting up the console.

I'll tell you this. The empeg is soooo much better than any car sterio I've ever owned or used. Even if he has to do some modifications behind the visible plastic I'd say it's worth it.

I've got one in a rex. and no you cannot get it installed without cutting up some stuff. But cutting up a $90 bezel seems a small price to pay for an empeg with turbo and all wheel drive.

The bezel isn't wide enough, so you will need to cut the edges in order to make it fit. Don't have a camera, sorry.
But I can answer questions.

Woohoo. I am done with a nasty project (and not laid off yet!) so would be pleased to answer any e-mails. My way of doing it was only one way, but I did learn a lot.

If I was starting over with the WRX I might try morrisdl's trick of moving the connector to recess the sled. That was *really* slick. In the WRX (if it would fit), it might mean that you could pop the bezel on at the last without the JB Weld lock nut maneuver I used. You'll have to cut the bezel in any event; the OE opening is just too small.

I sold the original 6-disk changer from the WRX for cheap to a friend with a new legacy wagon. She loves it. Popped right in.
