I'm wondering what experiences other Australians have had with customs. When I got my MkI I had to pay 1.22 * 1.2 * exchange rate * value in USD to Customs. The 1.2 was the import to wholesale markup! Did everybody else have this happen as well?

Of course, the real question is, what happens with a Mk2? Will it just be 1.1 * exchange rate * value in USD? Can anyone verify this from experience?

Oops, those should be 0.22 and 0.1 of course, not 1.22 and 1.1.

When i imported the Mk1 it was USD * 1.22 (or some arbitrary number by customs) * exchange rate

i hope that the duties will have come down with the intro of get,but i gess i will find out soon , how long did you mk1 take to get to you from when it was sent

when you ship to australia you do us the same h.s code that you use for the states that is 8471 5030 00 i hope as i dont wish to pay extra inport duties as i just checked with our customs office and they say all i should have to pay is the 10% gst is australian $$$$$

Yes, code 8471 5030 00 has recently been zero rated so all you should have to pay is the GST.
