Actually OED says that there is a verb form of "path" that's appropriate here, though it's obsolete:

"3. intr. To go in or as in a path; to pursue one's course. Also refl. in same sense. "

More likely, this colloquialism was just invented by HR types who wanted to put a buzz-word around one's search for a better job.

Speaking of, my favorite of these of late had been (when they were still using it) the US photocopy/printing chain Kinko's slogan ``The New Way To Office''.

Much in the way one gets FAQed by someone other than yourself?

But only I am eponymous!

I can never recall this word. Can you explain what the faulk it mean??? Like, does it mean you are like unique?

Maybe its another phrase I have been thinking of???

Eponymous means self-named.

For instance, most artist's first albums are "eponymous".

And then there's REM's "Eponymous" album which is, of course, not eponymous.

Whoa I have to say. I did not know that. Robert?? So don't worry thinking that I have been looking you up on the Internet.

It was a joke. With bad spelling If I could get you to Bitt me, then I would be Bitten. See? I would be eponymous!!

Oh, just Bitt me!

Well, I'm no expert on the topic, but I believe the proper usage is "Bitted".

Only Red people can see IP info. The BBS FAQ shows what the colors mean.

Allrighty, well I'm almost done sharpening my resume, and I did a lot of searching online this weekend... Not surprisingly, there aren't a lot of amazing dream jobs out there just waiting for me to apply for... So I will post my resume on Monster, but I'm wondering if I should start trying to track down which head hunters are the best to work with, instead of having them find me... Any idea where to start? I'm guessing there's no big listing of recruiters which is going to tell me which ones are going to be best equipped to land me a job... But it seems to me that the ones that will find me on Monster are probably going to be the "what's it going to take to get you into this job today" type. Anyone have any starting points for finding GOOD recruiters? I can just start machine-gunning my resume out to these places, but I'd like to find ones that will actually work for me instead of trying to convince me to take whatever job they have available.

I have never found anyone trying to convince me to take whatever job they have available. First, it's not hard to find the right person for the job in this market. Second, any bad employee is going to reflect badly on them, no matter whether the employee is simply incompetent, or if the employee just isn't interested in doing the job.

I hesitate to recommend anyone I've worked with, though, for reasons other than the getting-me-a-job portion of the equation. (Mostly stuff like ending up working as a contractor and them having lousy benefits and so on.)
