Let's say that I have a free Yahoo account (with a 6MB limit) and now it's full and I want to still use it, but still keep all my past emails, is there an easy way to forward all that email (1000 or so of them) to another account of mine?

In the past Yahoo offered to forward emails automatically to another account, but you have to pay for that now, so thats why I don't want to do that.

Thanks for the suggestions

Well, maybe... There's a program called YahooPops that I use with my Yahoo account. It lets you use Yahoo with a POP3 client without paying for it. It basically screen-scrapes your Inbox. If all of your emails are in your inbox (or if you move them all there..) I don't see a reason why you wouldn't be able to download them all into your POP3 email reader.

Worth a shot, anyway, unless I'm misunderstanding what you're trying to do here.

Word.

<folding arms Flava Flav style>

I'm just a little concerned that as it gains popularity, Yahoo is going to enact countermeasures on a regular basis, the same way AIM did with MSN messenger and eventually Trillian. I doubt Yahoo is enthused about free software that keeps them from making money. I wouldn't be surprised if they pulled the "cease and desist" card, either.

But for now, yeah, it's dope.

YahooPops

Awesome, I know someone who will probably switch over to my mail server now with this. I have a few converted Hotmail users thanks to a similar one called Hotway. The nice thing with Hotway is that it uses the same protocal MS Outlook Express does, so it's not going to break anytime soon.

Oh, sweet, I hadn't seen one for Hotmail. Now I can get my Hotmail spam delivered directly into my Inbox!

Well, they should have kept their POP servers free (by slipping in a couple spams weekly like they were). They had to imagine that this product would crop up after they started charging.

Heh. Well the person who I installed this for was getting a ton of spam, but still needed the address since he had given it out on a few important things (like resumes). So, now he has a procmail based spam filter, and a nicer web interface, still for free.

Cool. YahooPops should do what I want, sort of, in a round about way.

I knew I would be able to get the info I needed here.

I love this place. Thanks everyone.
