I've read some of you remarking on Amber versus Red Empeg
displays. Anyone have experience with whether Amber or
Red will match a Porsche Boxster guage color? I would have
thought amber, but now I'm not sure.

thanks.

Well, I hope it's amber :-)

According to FedEx, my 18Gb Amber will arrive tomorrow morning to put in my '00 Boxster. Will update the board to let you know how it matches with the amber Porsche displays.

I'm afraid you're going to run into the same problem as I currently have. As far as I know the Boxster has quite the same amber like my Peugeot has and the amber of the Mk2 is a different and lighter amber than that in the car... Take a look at the thread display brightness/colour.

Tell ya what. Send me a Boxster and I'll do a complete evaluation for you, with photos and everything.*

Hmm... maybe a bit cheaper for him to order an additional display - and even a third one to get a contrast with blue and amber

But on the other side ... You should better get two opinions - so send one Boxster to me, too - I already have the amber Mk2

Well, I haven't installed it yet in the Boxster, but it looks like amber is a pretty good match :-)
