Hard Drive Upgrade Needed

I have a Mk II Riocar with a 10 gig hard drive that is now almost full. I am willing to pay for someone to upgrade it with a second 40 gig drive, w/o f*(&^ing it up as I surely would. Even better would be if this could be done without losing the data on my first drive or taking it (the website I originally bought the player from wants an exorbatant amount of $ and for some reason wanted to keep my 10 gig drive - this is not an option as the cpu those files were on crashed long ago and I'm not about to rip 100+ cd's to hard drive again). I'd also need the drive formatted (obviously) and any non-beta upgrades performed. I've been reading this forum for quite a while, and I know all of you are good and honest people at least I hope so. So if anyone can refer me, I'd appreciate it much. I have no interest in cpus beyond using them, same goes for my precious Rio, so messing with it is not an adventure I'm confident in or have patience for. Thanks.

How far are you willing to go as if you are happy to open the player and drop in a drive some one could possible format one for you.
But speaking as someone that was scared witless of the empeg i followed the drive upgrade uide and it is real easy and very statisfying to get it done.
If you lived here in sunny scotland i would give you a hand

Do you have a friend who's a techie-type? Someone who's good with things like repairing computers? They don't necessarily need to know anything about the empeg specifically, they just need these instructions and a few hours to go through the procedure carefully.

Where do you live? I assume you don't want to ship it to someone... If I am close, I will help you out. I am near St. Louis.

Pretty much. We grabbed it from the Native Americans after we gained our independence. more info here.

I'd be willing to ship it, (though Scotland may be a stretch ) because I am a ridiculously trustworthy person, especially of the devoted audience of dedicated empeggers. (let me wipe the brown off my nose now) Of course, positive e-bay feedback, some creative guarantee, and the backing of my mob friends who will hunt down anyone who crosses me (I'm kidding) all help in putting me at ease One kind and merciful member e-mailed me with a very reasonable offer, I'm waiting for his reply to my response.

BTW, I have a fairly strong background in history, and have lived my whole life in Chicago, so though the validity of your statement about stealing it from the Native Americans may be true, I think the same may be said of the rest of the continental US as well. And as many issues as my country may have, it's still my home and still offers opportunities that no other country does.

Whoa dude...it's my country too. No need to get defensive. I wouldn't say we stole the land either. We took it by right of conquest, same as most other people groups. The native americans that were there before us conquered it from other tribes.

I can do Empeg upgrades, including drives, for very reasonable rates -- if you want to ship it to Ottawa Canada.
Cheers

(no, that's not an insult. i just get a kick out of your "avitar" picture thingey)

Hey no problem, I'm Canadian -- we have to have a sense of humour to live here!
The picture, by the way, is of me sitting on the very top of the Eichorn Pinnacle (a sub-summit of Cathedral Peak, above Tuolumne Meadows in Yosemite National Park, California) this past August.
Cheers!

I don't know that conquest is ever a right, regardless whether it's standard prcedure for the entire world or not. If the entire world were serial killers, I wouldn't jump on the bandwagon. I'm sure if the US took Canada as the 51st state(that would take about 3 days) I don't think they would be happy with our right to conquest. (rightfully)
Also, I think "Native" implies that they may have migrated, but were indeed "native", i.e., not conquistadors
No defensiveness meant. Just puttin' it out there.
