Doh! I left my empeg at the southbound Northampton services off the M1 (or it was taken off the table whilst we collected our food). I've tried their lost property but no-one has handed it in. I claim temporary insanity as we were driving back from Ireland and had been on the road for 6 hours.

Is there anyway of finding the serial number for the unit so I can report it missing (haven't got the box or made a note of it)?

Luckily, I bought a spare - but it's only 10GB - so it's just about full. I'll had to upgrade it & buy a new spare (that'll be the 4th empeg I've bought!).

Did you enter it into the Emplode software? The 1.0x software prompts you for the serial number.

if you look at the nitendo gameboy advance carry bag it is perfect and it can be bought in HMV

Doh! Just reinstalled beta 13 before moving everything to the spare unit. Should've thought of that.

yep that is the bugger it is perfect for the job empeg a perfect fit

it is reasonable padded as well and has a nice shoulder strap but you do have to gut the plastic bits out which takes seconds

i think it is better than the original empeg bag

yah, when someone leaves this lying around for someone to steal, imagine the look of the dude when he realizes it is not a gameboy... he will probably toss it...

If I bought one of those the first thing I would do was remove the labels.

But I don't need to because I have my faithful empeg carry case and a spare...

(shame the spare is blue rather than black though)

Only two "empeg" keys in my registry.
the first is under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\empeg\empeg-car

the second is under

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\empeg

But on my system (which did ask for a serial number originally when I first installed it) neither has anything of interest there now
[there are a couple of older keys/values there].

I uninstalled the 1.0 of Emplode when 2.0 Beta came out.

The only other keys to look are:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\SonicBlue\emplode

and

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SonicBlue\emplode

But again nothing much of interest in there that looks like a serial number.

So, have a look in these 4 places in your PC's registry it might just contain the serial number somewhere on your system.

(that'll be the 4th empeg I've bought!).

Hey! I'm not daft enough to lose 4 of them you know. 1 = original lost, 2 = spare, 3 = b'day pressie from my brother, 4 = new spare that I have yet to buy.

Not that handcuffs isn't a bad idea of course...

Agreed, the GBA bag doesn't have quite the cachet. Empeg carry case are the Prada handbags of the geek world.

Only if they are the black ones, the blue ones are so last season...
