I have just thought of a great idea.
Taking this idea: http://www.mini-itx.com/projects/briefcasepc/ > http://www.mini-itx.com/projects/briefcasepc/ and modifying.

Instead of using a Mini-ITX board, I am going to use a Standard ATX Board. I will use a 1U(Rack) size 300W Power Supply. I will use parts that I already have at home.

Intel Celeron Processor @ 466MHz.
256MB SDRAM
20GB Hard Drive
Aluminum Briefcase ($30 @ Home Depot)
SLED (Extra one that I have but will create my own docking connector).
15" DELL LCD Monitor
4 Port 10MB Hub

I am going to allow the Empeg/RioCar to slide in/out of the PC with a Plexiglass door on the front of it so that it is protected.

It will be easy to put together, the hardest part will be making it look nice. I suppose that it will take me 2-3 weeks to complete this. I will then post pics of what it looks like.

Ques: How do you post inline pictures like I see on other posts?

Sorry to tangentialize, but, from that site:
VAX machines created by Digital Equipment Corp. (DEC) were, and still are, the machines everyone thinks of when you say the word "mainframe".
Hee-hee. People are stupid.

I always thought 'Cray'. Is that wrong?

Me.

Sh.t...

Looks like I have to work faster

I put an
ASRock K7VM2 and an
AMD XP 1800+
into a case a few weeks ago.
And I planned to add a slot for my MKII,
but I don't have a spare sled

Can't wait to see your pictures.
Good luck.

VAXes were never mainframes - they were always minicomputers. Even a cluster of 7800s.

Definitely - I always think IBM for mainframe, Cray for supercomputer, VAX as a mini.

Very nice! I like how you included the flat panel into the briefcase. Very clever.

Do you have any pictures of it from further away. I'd like to see the entire thing, open, framed in a picture. I'm having trouble visualizing your whole project from all the close-ups.

Also, just out of curiosity, how do you primarily use your empeg when it's docked in your pc briefcase? Do you stream from it on the briefcase computer to external speakers?
