I am trying to connect my backup player to my computer to listen to it. The standby light doesn't even come on. It plays perfectly in the van though. I thought maybe I had it hooked up to the wrong jack on my sound card but my MKl plays when plugged in the same way.

Ok, so what am I doing wrong here? I'm not running hijack on this one (sorry Mark).

Bad AC Adapter power supply, maybe? Did you use the same power supply to plug in the Mk1 that works?

Yes I did. If I hit the down button, the menus come up on the screen but when done with the menus, it just shuts itself off. I'll try another power supply.

Could it be stuck on thinking it's in car use instead of being at home?

Are you sure that it's not something simple like... It's set to INFO:OFF with no visual and the volume is turned all the way down?

Don't. During the alpha phase of one of the early pre-1.0 software builds, I was certain that either my player was hosed or the software was really screwed up. Turns out I'd just cranked the fader all the way to the rear speakers and forgot to put it back. (This was the impetus for the feature where the fader is locked to center when playing on AC power. )

Thanks for the quick help Tony
No problem.

it's playing now.
You mean... it was playing all along, and you just couldn't hear it until now.
