Hi all!

After having installed 2.0 final, I noticed the waving-tux-in-car boot animation.
After installing Hijack this changed to the Tux-jumping-on- the-screen animation.

I like the Tux-in-car better.
Is there a way of changing back to the orignal?
I've look at the boot animations on Riocar.org, but I can't find the tux-in-car-waving one.

For now I've changed it back to Tux sitting next to the original empeg logo and waving.
It's not *exactly* the one I want, but at least he's waving to me!

I know it's there somewhere, as I installed it over the Hijack one some time back. Maybe it was posted on the BBS? Try searching for ``Risky Business'' and/or ``Tom Cruise''.

Edit: Actually, it does seem to be on the empeg site. I think it's the one labelled ``Original Empeg 2.0 Boot Animation''. But I can't seem to make the applet work, so I'm not sure.

I have not installed v2.00-final yet, but I am running v2.00-rc3, and there's no "Tux-in-car" animation there. And there's no kernel change between rc3 and final, so I'm wondering where that came from?

Anyone?

I guess I'll pull down v2.00-final now and see..

Well, I just installed v2-final, and there's "tux waving", but no "tux in car" animation. What were you refering to??

I think the tux-in-car was an animation that Tony did for the CES show / Visteon demo. I think it was made available on the board somewhere, but it was never in the base load.

Does it depend on whether you have your player configured as Rio-brand or Empeg-brand, perhaps?

Yes, that is the correct one if you want your Hijack animated screen to match the original Empeg 2.0 animated screen. Tux walks onto the screen, sits down, and waves.

Try searching for ``Risky Business'' and/or ``Tom Cruise''.
That's not related to Hijack or the original waving tux. That's just one I did later, around the time that the custom animation tools were first being developed. That one is here if anyone wants it. Tux slides onto the screen and spins around, like the scene with the Tom Cruise dancing to the Bob Seger song in Risky Business.

I could have sworn that one got inserted into Hijack as the default animation.

I think it was the default animation for one of the versions, but he went back to another submission (I don't remember which one) later.

So how did "Archeon" get the tux-in-car? I thought that the one Tony did could not be downsized for the empeg. That is if he was talking about this one:
By the way Tony, that logo is very cool.

You guys really have me in doubt now. I have no idea how I came up with that "Tux-in-car" animation, but I swear I'm not making this up!
I could have sworn I saw a "Tux in car" animation, but I only saw it once because immediately after that I installed Hijack.

I guess it was just a figment of my immagination then and what I really saw was the "Tux sitting next to the Empeg logo and waving" animation.

I find it really pretty funny to find out that Tony HAS made a "Tux in car" animation at one time, but I didn't know that and this is the first time I've ever seen the one that Mrfixit shows.

I guess it's time to visit some kind of doctor because I'm starting to see things that arent there apparently.

Well if you do find out were the boot animation came from please let me know because I love the one that Tony made.
If you look very carefully you can even see Tony's lisense plate from his car on Tux's car

Yeah, I agree. I would also love to have an Empeg-compatible version of that animation. That would rock!
