I really enjoyed being one of the very first owners of an Empeg back in the deep and distant past when the Mk1 first came out but I haven't used mine for a few years so I think it is time for it to find a new home where it will be loved and played with as it deserves.

So, offers please by email to [email protected] for my Mk 1 complete with docking cage, power supply, USB lead and mains power supply. I haven't a clue where the original CD is but I see that up to date software is available for download so that shouldn't be a problem.

If I don't get any decent offers in the next few days then I'll probably put it up on Ebay.

This one is a piece of history. I'm sure someone from Empeg (as was) will correct me if I'm wrong but I think it was the second one ever sold! It was installed, transplanted to another car then finally de-installed all by Cambridge Car Audio (Dominic I think) so it has been handled with care from birth.

Please note that I'll only ship within the UK. If you're close to Cambridge then I may be able to deliver.

Cheers,

Mark.

If you don't mind my asking, what do you use in your car now?

I changed cars a few months ago and had the cradle de-installed from the old car but have not had it installed in the new car. Right now that car has the factory fitted radio casette player. I don't have any tapes that still play well. My hifi seems incapable of recording CD to tape without chewing tapes up. So, I'm afraid I'm stuck with BBC Radio 2 all the time.

This time I'm looking for something easier/smaller to remove/hide than the Empeg so I intend to install a radio/CD/MP3 head-unit with removable face, but haven't decided which one yet.

Cheers,

Mark.

Greetings!

I notice that you are only shipping in the UK. I would be interested, if you would be willing to expand your shipping range to the US. What kind of price are you looking for?

Paul, is this your attempt at world domination?

Now you've got 160gb in at least 1 of your mk2's, its it your plan to buy every other empeg in the world?

But, seriously. I normally would not be interested in a Mark I at the moment, but it is serial number 3. More a curiousity than anything else at the moment. And moot, unless it could be shipped to the US.

As for the 160GB, by the time I am finished all of my players (home, car/office, spare) will be "up to spec".

As for President, I will pass. I much prefer working in the shadows, controlling things from behind the scenes. You don't need to wear kevlar (most of the time).

Kram, I think that you should consider Paul's offer seriously, despite any reservations you may have due to the fact that he is in the US. If #3 was indeed the first publicly sold empeg, then it does indeed deserve a good home, and I think that everyone here would agree that Paul is qualified in that regard.

(That's not to say that there aren't many other people here who are qualified, but I'd hate to see this end up with someone who isn't passionate about empegs simply because US-based offers like Paul's weren't considered.)

It's the lowest numbered Empeg out there but it's the second sold. I remember somebody said that Empeg had bought back the first one sold and it's in some cabinet.
Would definately be cool to have Empeg #3. And I agree about Paul

I'm happy with #129, in my mind, if you have an mk1. Keep it forever. They are pretty much handmade, one of a kind, priceless pieces of art, which also can play weeks of music

Greetings!

Now I am embarassed...

Seriously, the older empegs (and the newer ones too...) are works of art. If I were to get it, I would just put it on a shelf and retire it in a place of honour. It would not fit my existing sleds / installs. If someone else needs it and can use it, that might be the better thing.

If not, though, I am willing to give it a good home.
