Looks like this guy has one, but it sounds like he wants to sell it with a Mk2. Maybe you can convince him to let go of the case separately.

No problem. You don't see original empeg bags for sale very often, so it kinda jumped out at me when I saw that post. My own original empeg bag is showing its age... The empeg guys could have made a fortune if they had more of them made.
Welcome to the BBS, by the way.

Actually, they were giving them away because nobody was buying them!
I got my blue one with my empeg MkII for free and I got my black one for completeing a survey on the RioCar by SonicBlue right after they acquired empeg ltd.
They are perfect though. I know they had a 3rd party custom make these things, maybe we can find out who that company was?

True. I would be two of them now if they were still available.

I asked Rob Voisey about this recently, here is his reply:
Michael,
Everyone involved with the car player carry cases is long gone - I have no
idea who made them. I think they were made in Taiwan, and minimum order
quantity was something like 500 or 1000. We bought two batches of MOQ and
sold out around the time the player was discontinued.
I suggest you discuss case design on the empeg BBS - you'll get feedback
direct from the people who use them. URL is http://empeg.comms.net/
You won't be able to use the Rio logo, but it may be possible for you to use
the empeg logo if you can do so in such a way that it does not make it look
like the case is an official empeg product.

Hmm. As high as demand might be, I don't know if we'd be able to hit a MOQ of 500.

I had a thought the other day about a sort of anti-theft case for my empeg.
Bible covers...
I haven't had a chance to:
1. Locate a christian bookstore
2. Find out if the size would be right
But I have a feeling that one might do the trick...and if one were so inclined to get one with a cross or BIBLE stamped on the cover, one would dramatically decrease the chances of theft...maybe

Oh yeah!! He would certainly be able to confirm my suspicions on the size of the covers.

ROFL.
On another note, people do steal bibles, not that I understand why.

Yeah. Some people steal those little ones you always find in hotel rooms. And if nothing else, they may just randomly flick through it.
You want to get some really boring technical manual and use that. And chances are it will be big enough

Damn. In retrospect, I probably shoulda gone with "Mark 2:a"... Could have spawned funny responses like "wow, I didn't know they used hex back in biblical times." Oh well, I guess I'm losing my touch.

Hi Emily. I'm the guy in the other posting with the black "Empeg" bag. I also
received mine in response to the survey. Do you want to just message me separately? Thanks. -Gary

Yeah. Some people steal those little ones you always find in hotel rooms
That has nothing to do with reading the Bible, it's the same people that nick ashtrays, towels, robes, glasses and all the other little bits and pieces. I once had to go to reception and ask for a 'phone, because it had been nicked.
I only nick the sachet of shampoo, in case I end up at a cheap hotel that has none.
Why don't all hotels provide flannels, so that you don't have to travel with a clammy one - or sponge? ...Oh, I've answered my own question, people would only nick them

Nah, more likely someone would have jumped to correct you (not me of course!) that there’s no Mark 2:a in the bible, knowing how . . . particular we get on this bbs.

Sure there is, if you assume that `a' is the first digit after 9. didn't know they used hex back in biblical times. Of course, I could go on a rant about how chapters and verses weren't added to the Bible until at least the 13th century, but I'll avoid it for now.

Of course, I could go on a rant about how chapters and verses weren't added to the Bible until at least the 13th century, but I'll avoid it for now. I don't know anyone who claims the numbering system is divinely inspired (and if you have a link at the ready to prove me wrong, don't bother. There are all kinds of strange ideas out there!). In fact, a great number of the chapter breaks are disconcerting at best and lead to misinterpretation at worst.

I still think the bible cover is a fantastic idea and will post pics of the one I get, if and when I get.

Sorry guys I've been out of town... SC to OK with the empeg... wow it was great. Anyway, Bible covers have absolutely no standard size and therefore it is quite possible to find one that would fit your empeg. Personally I wouldn't use one because they open on three sides and the opening is usually opposite the handle. It would probably lead to dropping he empeg eventually.
