I swapped out my VFD the other day and have been meaning to post these pics. Not sure if we've got any pics of the display board sans display floating around. Feel free to use them for anything...

That must make it very easy to do the button hack installation!!!

Meanwhile, I know that you had a problem with the old VFD, where the lowest 20% of the screen was much dimmer compared to the rest of the display. This was more noticable when you had the dimmer options set.

You told me off line that the new display fixed this situation. It might be a good thing to add to the FAQ, that if you see sections of the display significantly dimmer than the rest, that the cause might be a bad display / heating wire. Can you confirm this, and (Tony) would this be a good one to add to the FAQ?

I can confirm the new display is much much better. Looks like there is still a minute amount of dimness on the top and bottom, but that is probably my imagination since I focussed on the old display so much

Does anyone have a photo of the "bad" situation where the bottom part of the display is dimmer than the rest?
