Sine a week or two, everytime I upload songs to my empeg (clean V2.00 final, no Hijack), it does the 'Checking media / Checking disc integrity'-thing... and it takes a long long time (2x60gig).
What's going on there ?

Greetings!

It sounds like your disk check is not succeeding when using emplode. You may want to do the disk check by hand to clear the problem, and then do a sync.

If you're running any third party programs from the music partitions, you want to stop those before syncing. Otherwise run a manual fsck as suggested above.

No Hijack doesn't neccessarily mean that there's not some older third party thing not requiring HiJack...

But then again he did say "clean V2.00 final"...

Thanks for your help guys, it works smoothly again !

Only weird thing: after entering that 'sync' command, I didn't get a command prompt for, say, two hours...
I wasn't worried too quickly, because some commands before 'sync' also took about one hour to complete.

But after waiting that long I gave it a shot and found out I just had to hit enter to get back to the comand-prompt... I felt a little bit stupid...
