I'm hooking up my Parrot CK3000 bluetooth car kit to the aux in of the emepg and almost have everything just how I want it. The only real problem is the aux in switching using hijack. I'm using a basic extmute_(on/off)=0x20DF03(Rio Source button), and find that it works well untill things get screwed up. Occasionaly, if the car kit triggers the mute line too quickly (i think) it will switch the source without switching it back. Since it's a toggle, once they're out of sync the only way to fix it is to go in and manually change the source. Can any of the IR Gurus come up with a better way to switch the inputs so that extmute_on switches to aux and extmute_off switches to player? This should be fairly standard for a piece of High End Audio Equipment, right?

Sure. Use the dedicated (separate) AUX / whatever codes from the Kenwood remote. These are listed in the hijack.h header file (attached).

Mark... Hijack feature request...

When we do the trick to hold down the knob-button to cycle between tuner/aux/player... Can we have it optionally just skip the Aux? I never use Aux, even when there's no tuner attached (in which case it sometimes switches to Aux when I'm just trying to hold down the button to get to the Hijack menu). For the rare times I want to hook up the CD player in the car, I can fish into the menu for that.

Actually, I really want to just virtualize the NextSrc "button", so that anyone can define any sequence they like for it. But.. too busy to get it right at the moment, so.. Your request has been granted - The Oracle

Hijack v340 will be out shortly, with these changes:

-- the NextSrc function now skips AUX by default.
-- a new [hijack] config.ini option "nextsrc_aux_enabled" can now be set to "1" to reenable "AUX" in the NextSrc sequence.

Cheers

Ah.. but do note that, if no tuner is attached, it still goes to AUX when NextSrc is used (otherwise, why use NextSrc?? -- yah, I saw the note about holding the knob too long.. ).

Cheers

Wow, cool! Nip out to the Travel agent's office for a few minutes, come back, and it's like magic!

Speaking of travel agents... Rumor has it that you'll be in Cambridge on the Thursday night before the Amersfoort meet? Looking forward to meeting up. Where are you staying?

Dunno yet. I'm winging it. Rob suggested once that someone might have some floor/couch space for me that night. But we've definitely gotta meet up for beer and curry there! I'll be at Empeg Towers late Thursday afternoon.

Cheers

Hey Mark, what about a feature to completely disable the AUX-Tuner-Player switching. I don't have a tuner, and i don't use the aux, and alot of the time when i go into hijack to gpsapp or something, it will just switch to aux.

I think that when I redo the NextSrc function "properly", people will then be able to use it any way they please, or not. But I don't want to fuss with it right now, because the "fix" involves fiddling with the IR translation mess, and that portion tends to break rather easily.

Hello Mark,

I did try to use this [hijack] nextsrc_aux_enabled=1 feature. It works.
But on your Relative patches and Revision History you have written nextsrc_aux_enable=1. There is the "d" missing on the end of enabled.

Bye
