I forgot to post this at the time but better late than never.

I got to see ZZ Top live last week (or was it the week before?) and I didn't realize just how good they were live.
Even without considering thier advancing years, it was a really good concert, really much better than I was expecting.

A new favorite live band, after Pink Floyd.

Hmm. As a fanatical Pink Floyd fan, I have to say that since it's coming up on 10 years since their last tour, I don't know if they deserve to hold onto my top spot as favorite live band. Yeah, I loved that tour, and I wouldn't say that any live shows I've seen since have.. um.. eclipsed the Division Bell tour. But I have seen some good shows, and at some point there has to be a statute of limitations on how fair it is to compare your vague, possibly inflated memories of a show from 10 years ago with the show you saw last week.

Or, in other words, Roger and Dave need to have a talk, realize there's lots of money to be made, and get back out on the road, dammit.

Oh my God, Division Bell was that long ago? How time flies.

ooops!
Vague memories may well be correct ! I didn't realize it was that long ago.

ZZTop were a completely different animal to Floyd though, just three guys and a drum kit, everything else was hidden from view. Very minimalist and very cool.

I must agree with you, Floyd need to get thier collective asses into gear and get on the road again.

OMG, ten years ago??!!! I was sitting in the 30th row in Foxboro Stadium, the best concert I ever saw. Well right up there with one 19 years ago ,Roger Waters Pros and Cons tour... Reg the dog, he was cool... Too bad I saw it after Eric Clapton had enough of Roger on tour...

I'm with you there... I have seen U2 live twice. The great thing about concerts is when you go expecting the opening band to suck and they don't. I recently went to Matchbox 20 and Sugar Ray opened. They were full of energy and got the crowd into it. Although they are definately not one of my favorite bands I had a lot of fun. And that's what matters. But U2 still puts on a superb show!
