My Empeg is off to get the GLOW

I recieved my illumination kit for the knob and buttons last week from Stuart @ Eutronix. After looking the kit over, I decided it was a bit above my current soldering skill level so I purchased his installation service and set my player off into the wild blue yonder. Now that I'm tuneless, I've realized two things...
1. My commute is really long.
2. I sing really bad.
Hope it comes back soon. I'll let you all know how it turns out!

I'm planning to outline the existing buttons with VERY small holes untill translucent replacments are available.

Hmmm, interesting. I must have missed the many posts about the new source for knob and button lights. Could Eutronix be added to the "Buttons" link at the top of the BBS pages? I looked at the Eutronix site and had a hard time finding reference to the lighting kits. A little more advertising would help the less devout BBS readers like myself.

The reason you can't find reference to the kits on our site is because we don't have a manual on installation for them yet. Once we do, the kits will be quite visible on our site. They are available now on the order page to satisfy those who are anxious and adventurous. I promise that the manual will be very clear and easy to follow, with additional tips not provided on Brian's site.
I would imagine that at some point the button link would just go to our site, as it appears Brian is out of the business.

Now that I'm tuneless, I've realized two things...
My hard drive cable popped off as I left work one day. That sucked. Despite routinely hearing songs in my head, in rich, monophonic reproduction(*), I can't imagine doing it for any length of time.
(* I seem to have a good memory for music, as long as there's no music playing that I can hear, but I have no ability to manage the spatial separation in my head, so it's all in mono. Very bizarre.)

Thanks for the note.
Can you give me any details (or pictures) on what your complete light kit looks like with the stock buttons and knob installed? Does it provide even a little light around the buttons and knob?
I'd like to have you install the light kit now before the manual is released and everyone suddenly wants it. So there are no buttons out there yet, but I'd be ready for them when they come. Thanks again.

2. I sing really bad.
Well, just sing really bad songs. Problem solved.

Hi, I ordered the Kit from stu a few weeks ago. And installed it into my empeg. This is what it looks like. You can't see any light from the buttons, without drilling some sort of hole in the button. But the knob does let some light out. I have some ideas for drilling the knob too, but i may just order the NewFace, i would really just like the knob, if it would fit on stock faceplate.
I just drilled pin holes in my buttons. Here are some pictures.

Have you thought about taking a Dremmel tool to the outside of the buttons? Maybe you could carve out some thin channels and end up with a dotted outline around the buttons.

OOh, now that would be a cool idea. Outlined buttons and knob instead of lit buttons and knob.
Of course, I wouldn't take so much as a feather duster to my stock buttons and knob since they are not replacable. Maybe I could make something out of wood........
