I, too, am doing an upgrade this weekend.
But I made the mistake of posting my drive upgrade question in Techical
instead of General.

I seem to be getting errors in the stress test.

So what do I do now? New drive? Start over with same drive?

Specific details of the errors are here in the original post.

Sorry. I wasn't paying attention.

Um. If you are still in the "building" phase (no music on it), I would recommend running another build on it (just to be safe) and try to get a log of the build cycle and self test. It may have been a one time error, but better to be safe than load all of your music and have trouble later.

Apparently no one else has seen this problem.
I assumed the drive was bad and exchanged it.

All systems now seem to be go.
I'm busy loading up the new drive with CDs now.

1. The empeg seems to run a little hotter now.
2. Hijack Vital Signs now always reports 0 degrees the first time I check it,
then it updates a few seconds later to the real temp.
Similarly, when I check it a little while later -- same temp as last time, then
after a few seconds it will suddenly bump up 5 or 10 degrees to the new
temp.

Is this a new Hijack polling issue?
Will this cause problems with the temperature alarm failing to go off?

I think Hijack only reads the temperature sensor when it needs to, because it is a time-consuming operation to do so.
