The results of my poll are in, and it seems 25 people would use a CE version of Palantir, while 24 are willing to install a Java VM to use it. I've stated before that if I had a device and enough demand, I would write a CE version of Palantir, and Ezekiel has kindly donated an HP Jornada 545 for me to develop Palantir CE on. Please thank him, this would not have been possible without a device for me to test with. Now I guess it's time for me to put up.

Thanks guys! The real kudos go out to my boss who let me have his old unused PPC.

I'm looking forward to it too.

Thanks, I've still got a long ways to go with the app, but at least the IrDA code is written. I couldn't have done it without Chimaera's help, his insight on irdadump went a long ways. I've still got to write the playlist picker portion for the pocket pc, and determine a file format for the data file. Still a ways off, I'm afraid.

That's actually a Statics and Dynamics book, from when I was in school. They make great Empeg holder-uppers!

Yeah, and so is the next version of emphatic, but at least you're doing some work. I've been a real slacker this summer, I've had some time on weeknights to work on it, but at the end of a long day of coding at work, the thought of doing so at home seems very wrong.

I understand. My job isn't as coding intensive. Right now I'm in the middle of evaluating different products, so that gives me the brainpower to do a bit of coding on the side.
at least you're doing some work

And I'll have to do some more if I want variety, too. Right now it's hardcoded to insert "Liquor, Beer and Wine" by the Reverend Horton Heat.

Wow! 8-) This is fast. Even "only" coding the IRDA seems to be a big step.
