The wife/fiance/girlfriend and I will be moving up that way in about a month.
Were currently in the apt/house hunting phase, so if anybody has any leads on a year lease for a house preferably, or an apt 1 or 2 bedroom available end aug. early sept. let me know.
Were going up next weekend Fri. Sat. Sun. to look at places.

Any neighborhoods to avoid?
Anything we should look for specifically?
Any general advice on that area?

Were also looking in Saco, Scarborough and So. Portland.

Thanks!

Well, I'd make sure and get a 3 or 4 bedroom place, or else the four of you will have space issues. I don't know much about Portland, since I grew up about 6 hours north of there in Caribou, but if you are visiting Baxter State Pahk, Bah Haboah or northwards let me know, I can give you some tips for those areas.

Oh, get some Tim Sample tapes, some Bert and I tapes (or MP3's), learn to rip on people from Boston, learn to state the obvious when asked a dumb question, and for gawd sakes, don't ever call someone from Maine a Maineiac, they are Mainers.

Any advice?

ASAP, get Maine plates on your car to avoid the stigma of "Masshole"!

Portland is pretty nice. Yeah, I could do Portland....
