I think it was posted here but I can't find it.
Can someone tell me how to get rid of it in Office 98?

If it's Office 98, I think that means she is using a Mac. That would also mean no right click...

I bow, as always to your superior.....I'll nip across to the mac side of the boxer empire and see if they know.

......one nip later,

They're designers, they don't know what a word is, let alone an office package, that's why they use macs.
Their support is out today, so they can't ask her.

Oh, well then it's a Mac, which means the empathy chip inside will sense that she doesn't like the paper clip, and it will go away automatically.

(Let's see how long we can make this thread without actually solving Heather's problem.)

Some of us are trying to be helpful here! - But it does raise the question: Why would you have a paperclip in the paperless office.

On my last Mac, I hooked up a three button mouse, thru a converter. I was surprised to find that the right click has a world of functionality similar to OS/2 that most mac users never know exists.

You could probably ask it how to make it go away...

From here:
To make it disappear, you need to locate the Office Assistant dialog box. You access this dialog box by Control-clicking the Office Assistant character and selecting Options from the pull-down menu. Then simply uncheck everything you don't want it to do. If you want Office Assistant back, you can still access it by choosing Microsoft Word Help from the Help menu.
I don't own or otherwise have a copy of Office for Mac, so I hope that's right.

Most third-party mouse right-clicks are the same as control-clicks.

I usually just run setup again, and remove the check box beside office assisntant. If he's not installed, he can't appear.
